I purchased this for my mom. She lives in the heart of LA. It doesn't necessarily cool down a room. It works if you actually put ice and water in there. Other than that, it's just an expensive fan.

I love it so far. Haven't had it a long time but so far it's working great. I'm about 40 miles from Palm Springs, Ca. so the air is hot and dry right now and this really makes a difference. It's not an air conditioner but a lot cheaper to run. I will update later on if anything goes wrong.

Works well. The top ice compartment allows easy access to fill it with ice. I filled it in the morning and ran it on high almost all day and it still had plenty of water in it. I live in a fairly dry climate so the unit works well in this area.
